Why Non-Follower Results May Be Incomplete

Planned workflow: Learn why a missing account is not proof of a missing follow-back. Understand limited lists, unknown relationships, and careful unfollow decisions.

Visible lists are not always complete

A visible list may be partial. An empty page, missing cursor, and a genuinely empty list are not interchangeable outcomes.

Missing versus confirmed non-follower

Relationship evidence has a source, observation time, and completeness flag. Expired or incomplete evidence cannot authorize an automatic unfollow.

How previews show uncertainty

The safest result for a target without adequate evidence is Unknown, not a guess. A protected list applies even when the rest of a target’s data is complete.

What to do before unfollowing

A visible list may be partial. An empty page, missing cursor, and a genuinely empty list are not interchangeable outcomes.
